How it all began.
In his groundbreaking 1991 work, The Great Good Place, Ray Oldenburg wrote of the need for a ‘third place’ in our communities – one that is away from work, away from home, but still feels personal and accessible. He highlighted its importance as a hub of social interaction, and a place for neighbors to gather.
In 2008, childhood friends Adam Olsen and Kent Beidel set out to create such a ‘third place’ in their community of Kirkland, WA. Caffe Rococo was soon born, combining Adam and Kent’s mutual love of great coffee and connecting with people. In the years since, we’ve grown from just a single café to a formidable regional roaster, working with key wholesale and retail partners across the PNW and beyond. In 2019, we debuted a new name (Thruline Coffee Co.) and a fresh new look and feel. As we continue to grow and evolve, we remain committed to our principles: providing top quality coffee and building lasting relationships.
